Developers Center

The Nitro platform is free and open source, built by a great group of developers who are dedicated to delivering the best Web Application Framework possible.

Nitro is our central development project, but the project incubates a number of sub-projects like Og and Facets. The majority of the code is cross platform Ruby. The client side code is written in cross platform Javascript and HTML. We leverage free software projects wherever we can -- Facets, Mongrel, JQuery just to name a few.

There are still many parts of development left to do and we can use all the help we can get. There are lots of ways you can pitch in-- report bugs, perform quality testing, submit patches, give feedback to the team, and share your ideas on how to make Nitro better.

Ways to help Nitro

There are different ways you can get involved and be a part of our development team.

  • TESTERS: Nitro gets better when people test the framework and report bugs. You can help make Nitro a better Web Application Framework. Download Nitro and Og, test, and become a tester here.
  • DEVELOPERS: We need your help to follow our road map. You can check out Nitro and Og code from the darcs repository. Just type: darcs get http://repo.nitroproject.org and report bugs and patches in our Ticket system.
  • DOCUMENTERS: There is a lot of documentation of Nitro that still needs to get written. You can add to this wishlist of documentation here.
